the gate oni's youngest
Oniwaka is the youngest of the gate oni and by far the gentlest. He has tried scowling, stomping and roaring, and none of it frightened anyone.
So he guards the shrine gate the only way he knows: by sweeping it, very loudly, at all hours. Nothing unwelcome has crossed the gate since he started.
